Lapstrake Canoe - IMP

An update on the progress I'm making with my version of Jim's canoe, 'Imp'.

If the uppermost strake looks disproportionately wide to you, well that's because it has still to be cut down to form the real sheer.

In these latest pictures, I'm working on smoothing the bottom so that I can apply some glass and epoxy to the 3mm ply.

I've said this before, but I think she's going to be a pretty little thing, and as Jim's has worked well, I see no reason to further delay making the drawings public: I hope to get down to that job some time in the next few months. If anyone's interested in getting down to building, I might even be persuaded to get the job done a little sooner...
