Sidewinder

Hello Chuck,

Since my korkor was such a success I decided to build another outrigger canoe from scratch but this time more versitile in being able to paddle and sail, more emphases on paddeling and doing the sailing with a kite. I built Sidewinder with birch 1/4'' bulkheads and luan side panels using westsystem epoxy and glassed the outer skin with 8 oz cloth. Total weight of hull 70LBS. With outrigger and ama around 85 -90lbs. The ama will be lashed together with the three support beams and the pine planks will be lashed on and off as needed in different locations.

Side note on the last article about My korkor the ama on the bottom pictures is with the more bouyant ama which worked good out in the open ocean. The solid log was what I referenced to which was in the article before that I would not want to try out in the open ocean.
